How To Install Flash In Ubuntu Hardy Heron:

Here is an easy way to install Flash with only one line of code…

Plus, how to open the terminal if you never have.

Copy The Code Below:

sudo aptitude install flashplugin-nonfree

Open The Terminal: Applications > Accessories > Terminal

Paste the code into the terminal: Edit > Paste

Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

When asked to enter your password, enter it, etc.

Flash will be installed, just follow the instructions on the terminal screen.

When you are done restart your browser.

Shockwave Flash 9 installed in Firefox.

Check Your Install In Firefox:

Tools > Add ons > Plugins…

Gnash:

Gnash is the Open Source version of Flash but currently only supports some flash but not all. At the time of this writing Gnash was still in development. Gnash is a high priority for the Free Software Foundation’s Free Software effort. Gnash is a program worth watching and waiting for…

If you have the skills join in.

If you do want to install Gnash:

Applications > Add/Remove… > Show: All Open Source Applications > Search: Gnash > Enable…

VitalBodies suggests that people really new to Ubuntu might want to think twice before installing Gnash as it is only an alpha program.
